The first appointment we offer to clients is an hour with a counsellor. At this session clients will be given a chance to talk through their problems and consider ways they can address their concerns.

This hour might be sufficient for them, alternatively they may wish to register for ongoing counselling or be referred on to another agency more appropriate to their needs.

When clients telephone for an appointment they will be offered one within approximately ten days. As this is a one-off appointment we do ask clients to make every effort to be available during the day. If they can only make evenings they may have to wait longer.

Our counsellors are carefully selected and trained by RELATE to a nationally recognised standard. They receive continuing support and supervision and have access to a range of professional consultants. In this way we maintain consistently high standards.

Counselling is a private and confidential form of help. This means that we will not give clients' names or any information about them to anyone outside RELATE unless someone's personal safety is at risk. If you would like more information about this please ask.

We will help you whether or not you are married and whatever your race, personal beliefs, or sexual orientation.
